Candour sets Head of Development
Candour Productions are delighted to announce the appointment of Becky Ford to the position of Head of Development.
Becky’s experience spans 16 years in both production and development across a variety of unscripted genres. Her credits include: Glow Up: Britain's Next Makeup Star (BBC Three/Netflix), Jamie and Jimmy's Friday Night Feast (Channel 4), Back in Time for Tea (BBC2), and James May's Toy Stories (BBC2).She joined Candour in 2021 as part of the development team and since then she has helped drive the development slate, securing several commissions with major UK broadcasters, as well as producing Candour’s acclaimed C4 series Catching a Killer and recent C4 commission, The Slaying at Sycamore Gap (W/T).
As Head of Development, Becky will oversee the day-to-day running of the development team, helping Chief Creative Officer Anna Hall to drive the company's creative strategy, and working to secure new commissions - with a keen focus on the UK terrestrial and SVOD markets. With experience spanning documentary, factual entertainment, specialist factual and entertainment, she brings a dynamic, multi-genre perspective to the role. Named as one of Broadcast’s 2024 Development ‘Hot Shots,’ Becky is passionate about telling compelling stories, fostering unique access, and crafting narratives that captivate audiences.
