“Every line was powerful, but the victims’ statements, at the end of a public inquiry which concluded last year, were especially telling”

“This damning film detailed a scandal as alarming as any, but it’s one we’ll soon be hearing a lot more about”

This story is the ‘Mr Bates’ of the NHS. A cover-up on a massive scale. More than 30,000 people infected through contaminated blood in the 1970s and 1980s. And in the middle of it all, a group of school children who were secretly used for medical research. This powerful documentary tells the shocking true story of pupils at a college involved in the worst medical disaster in NHS history – the infected blood scandal.
The Lord Mayor Treloar School & Hospital offered young haemophiliacs the chance to experience a great education with 24-hour medical care, including access to a revolutionary drug – factor Eight.
Pupils at Treloar’s and their parents thought factor concentrates were a miracle cure, when in fact, they were a death sentence. Out of the 122 haemophiliacs who attended the college in the 70’s and 80’s, only around 30 are left alive.
Through deeply personal testimony we piece together an unbelievable story of secret clinical trials, medical negligence and a fight for the truth.
